These convicted sexual offenders have disappeared. It is bad enough that there are dozens of convicted sexual predators in Volusia County but the fact that some have absconded and cannot be found is scary. These three are our highlights of the week. If you know the location of any of these creepy criminals please contact any law enforcement bureau. You can contact the Volusia County Sheriff's Office at one of the following numbers: 386-248-1777; 386-736-5999; 386-423-3888; 407-323-0151.

You also can call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at (888) 277-TIPS if you prefer to remain anonymous and would like to qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.

Their crimes range from Lewd and Lascivious acts to multiple counts of sexual battery to taking indecent liberties with a minor. All have been convicted and all have run like the dogs that they are.

Charles Ambrose was convicted in 1989 of two counts of sexual battery/coerces by threat. He was sentenced to 22 years. He was incarcerated from 1989 to 1994 (thanks a lot, parole board) and then jailed again from 1997 to 2000. He has been missing since September 2008.

How about sexual battery with a deadly weapon? That is John George Pine's thing. Now he has warrants for failure to register and delivery and sale of a controlled substance. Bet he makes his parents so proud. In 1999 he was sentenced to eight years of community supervision. Guess that did not work out so well. He has been missing since 2005.

Third but by no means last is Paulo Bettencourt. He works as an auto repairman but his form of play is Lewd and Lascivious and indecent acts with a child under the age of 16. This maybe the biggest missing creep of them all. In 1998 he was convicted twice, once for an act in 1995 and once for an act in 1997. Two sentences - one for 5 years and one for 10 years - and still he is released in less than five years. So what has he been up to since he disappeared in August of 2006? Let's find him so we don't have to guess.
